The Research School of Engineering at the Australian National University is
advertising multiple research positions in Engineering. Computer Vision

Position Overview The Research School of Engineering at the Australian
National University (ANU) is one of the premier engineering research
institutions in the world. The ANU is supported by research intensive
funding from the Australian Government to provide international
research leadership across a wide range of areas and to train future
international research leaders. We seek applications from outstanding
early career researchers for Future Engineering Research Leadership
Fellows. These positions are up-to 5 years research intensive
positions targeted towards individuals with 0-5 years experience since
the award of their PhD.
We wish to recruit individuals with growing international reputations
for research excellence and with the ambition to become future world
leaders in their discipline. Successful candidates will be expected to
define their own research agendas and will be provided with mentoring
and support to apply for competitive funding to begin building a
research team and develop their own laboratory facilities where
appropriate. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise
graduate students in their research area and contribute to the
teaching effort of the School.
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field of Engineering,
evidence of the ability to pursue an independent research program and
a strong commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching
programs of the school. Applications should include a research vision
statement, a brief statement on teaching interests, a detailed
curriculum vitae including a publication list, and the names and
contact details of five referees. The research vision might include a
strong synergy with one or more research groups in the Research School
of Engineering as well as the ability to reach across traditional
research silos.
The position comes with a yearly budget to cover visitors and
conference travel as well as the possibility to negotiate significant
startup funds for academics in experimental areas.
