[Imageworld] Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Human Motion Tracking


The University of Oxford is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join the Active Vision Research Group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The post is funded by the EU Project REWIRE and is fixed-term for 24 months.

This is an exciting cross-disciplinary project for in-home stroke rehabilitation, in which Oxford’s primary role is the development of computer vision methods for human pose recovery and tracking. You will be responsible for conducting independent research into human pose recovery using vision and depth sensors.

You should possess or be about to complete a PhD (or equivalent qualification) or have equivalent industrial experience in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or other closely related area. A good first degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline together with a strong publication record commensurate with experience and opportunity are essential. The ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to communicate scientific ideas to an expert audience both orally and written together with experience and expertise in computer programming, especially in C++ and Matlab are essential.
