[Imageworld] PhD position: Advanced tracking and navigation for endoscopy

Dear all,

The research objective of CAMP is to study and model medical procedures
and introduce advanced computer integrated solutions to improve their
quality, efficiency, and safety. We aim at improvements in medical
technology for diagnosis and therapeutic procedures requiring
partnership between physicians/surgeons, computer/engineering scientists
and providers of Medical Solutions. CAMP forms such research triangles
and actively participates in existing ones.
We are offering a

PhD position in Computer Aided Medical Procedures
"Advanced tracking and navigation for endoscopy"

You will work in an interdisciplinary and international research
project, developing tracking and navigation solutions for flexible
endoscopy. The core focus will be on development and evaluation of
hybrid electromagnetic and image-based tracking systems.

Applicants should hold a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, or an
equivalent degree from a recognised university. Candidates should fit in
with the following interests and ideally should have experience in
medical image processing, medical image physics, registration,
intraoperative tracking, and/or visualisation.
In this interdisciplinary and international setting, strong
communication and organisation skills are required, as well as very good
knowledge of English. Knowledge of German language is of advantage.
