Postdoctoral Position in Neurology-Neuroimaging Analysis

Overall description: The Hershey Brain Analysis Research laboratory, Penn State University-Hershey Medical Center, seeks a postdoctoral fellow to participate in multi-disciplinary research activities including development of new algorithms for detecting potential brain pathological changes caused by environment-genetic interactions. The training experiences will assist you in developing skills to work with a multi-disciplinary team (including neurologists, radiologists, neuroscientists, MR imaging and image analysis experts, and statisticians) in solving clinically relevant, scientifically important problems.
Specific Responsibilities: As a part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will help to identify technology gaps in current solutions, adapt or develop cutting-edge computer vision algorithms, implement innovative solutions for these clinically relevant and scientifically important problems, and design experiments to assess the feasibility of your novel solutions and approaches. Candidate will need to communicate effectively with all team members and other collaborators. Candidate will be expected to develop independent projects and publish in high quality journals.
Preferred Skills and Prior Experiences: Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field, with knowledge and experience in Image Processing or Computer Vision algorithm innovation and implementation are preferred. Prior training in neuroimaging and computational neuroscience will be an asset, as would the experience of developing image analysis algorithms for neuroscience applications. In-depth software skills and experience implementing image processing or computer vision algorithms are essential.
