Telecom ParisTech and Orange Labs have been working together for several years on the construction of realistic anatomical models of pregnant women and fetuses as well as children. The models are built from the segmentation of MRI and 3D ultrasound data.
These models are used for numerical dosimetry simulations of tissue exposure to electro-magnetic fields.

Current focuses of the collaboration are:
[1] Automated segmentation of whole body pediatric and fetal MRI for the construction of models of fetuses.
[2] Construction and deformation of mesh-based body models for posing, morphological modifications and dynamic pregnancy simulation.
[3] Numerical dosimetry simulations on different models to study the variability of SAR measures under different configurations or morphology.
The group has an open position for a research engineer to focus on the 2nd task and develop tools for handling and deforming the anatomical models. Such tools are used to simulate the intrinsic variability of the morphology (e.g. layers of muscle and fat) within the population as well as position the models in different configurations. All models and posing tools will be made available for the scientific community.

Required diploma: Engineering degree, Master in computer science, or PhD thesis.
Required skills: 3D modeling, meshes, mesh adaptation and deformation, articulated models, programming in C/C++.
A good knowledge of the SOFA software tool will be appreciated .
