wishes to invite scientists and researchers to submit articles for the Special Issue on: 
 

MOTION CAPTURE SYSTEMS FOR ANALYSIS OF HUMAN GAIT AND THEIR MEDICAL AND BIOMETRIC APPLICATIONS 

 
      Motion capture (MOCAP) systems have been widely used in many fields of applications including clinical  analysis, sports, biometrics, arts, entertainment, computer games, military applications and many others. Extremely wide range of applications makes the field of motion capture systems splitting into more specialized areas. There is a need of creating fields of discussions and opinion exchange in all specific areas of applications of MOCAP systems. 
 
      Analysis of human gait belongs to central fields of applications of MOCAP systems. The purpose of the special issue on MOTION CAPTURE SYSTEMS FOR ANALYSIS OF HUMAN GAIT AND THEIR MEDICAL AND BIOMETRIC APPLICATIONS is to encourage and promote publication of results of original researches as well as survey papers in this area.
 
Submissions are expected to deal with motion capture systems for the analysis of human gait. Examples of topics of interest are:
- Analysis of dynamics of human motion
- Human skeletal models and their estimation
- Applications of human motion capture systems to person identification
- Diagnosis of gait abnormalities based on motion capture systems
- Multichannel systems for capturing of human motion
Topics of submitted papers are not limited to the areas specified above. Contributions in other areas related to the analysis of human gait and applications, are also invited.

Paper submission deadline December 16, 2011
Notifications of the first round of reviews January 22, 2012
Deadline of the revised submissions February 19, 2012
Final decisions for all the accepted papers March 4, 2012
Publication of the special issue March 31, 2012
 
PAPER SUBMISSION
Prospective authors should submit high quality and original contributions that have not appeared, nor are under consideration, in any other journals.
