The Position
· Develop leading edge technologies and platforms for Opto-Electronic
Sorter Division using
high speed machine vision and optical detection techniques.
· Work within a highly skilled and motivated team to develop
technology and software for current & future
electronic sorting systems.
· Liaise with outside bodies such as Universities to identify and
develop new emerging relevant research and
technologies.
· In cooperation with the Product Development Manager and Corporate
Engineering ensure that new
technologies and products are developed on budget and on time.
· Ensure that research is properly structured and documented.
The Person
· An innovative, creative and highly qualified scientist or engineer.
· A person with ambition, energy and drive.
· Professionally qualified to Masters or PhD level, or with equivalent
experience.
· Strong Vision and Image analysis knowledge and experience
· Knowledge and experience required in the following areas:
• Optics and physics of light, laser and LED technologies.
• NIR and UV light emission and detection .
• Photo-detection technology from discrete diode to CCD and CMOS array.
• C and C++ programming
• DSP and Embedded software
• Multi-threaded software development
• Digital and analogue theory with practical experience
• Matlab or equivalent modelling and simulation tools
