The Norwegian Color Research Laboratory at Gjøvik University College in Norway has an open PhD position. The PhD project entitled "Quality Evaluation and Enhancement of Reproduced Images" will focus on the development of image quality metrics correlated with perceived image quality as well as the innovative usage of such metrics to improve or optimize the quality of color image reproduction algorithms, devices, or systems.
*****Requirements*****
Candidates are expected to have successfully completed an undergraduate and MSc degree in a relevant discipline and should have demonstrated the ability to successfully conduct research projects. English language proficiency (both written and spoken) should also be documented.
Specific background and skills in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: Color imaging; Digital image processing; Human and machine vision.
*****Conditions*****
The position can be awarded for a period for up to four years, and can include 25% teaching or administrative duties. The position is remunerated according to salary level 48 in the national salary scheme, gross NOK 391 300 per annum, of which 2% is deducted for the State Pension scheme.
